These are the people that make these concerts so unbelievable. This is exactly why I love PJ fans, they like to help each other out, they aren't out there to make money off tickets- it's a you scratch my back i'll scratch yours kind of attitude, or a pay-it-forward. I immediately private messaged him and he was more than happy to accommodate. So after tickets sold out I never thought twice about adding a second show into the mix, until I saw on the 10club that someone had General Admission tickets for sale for face value. Tickets were sold out almost instantly, and we had only planned to attend one show in Charlotte. I bought the Charlottesville tickets for my boyfriend for our anniversary, it was kind of a fluke actually. It's awesome because you get to go somewhere new, that you might not have gone to before. Some people plan their vacations around specific destinations, we as well as many other PJ fans plan their destinations around PJ shows.

This band really offers such a unique experience from night to night that makes you want to come back for more! The atmosphere from city to city, the fans you meet really create a lasting impression, and its a really special thing to be part of! These two shows will be the 4th and 5th shows this year, and friends and family think we're crazy to want to see a band so many times.

The day has come, our second Pearl Jam road trip this year! Tomorrow morning we leave for Charlottesville Virginia, and then off to Charlotte, North Carolina for night two of our Pearl Jam double header. The art itself is a print from the Toronto show in 2009, where I replaced the wording on the sign from "Pearl Jam" to "I wish I was as fortunate as fortunate as me".Īfter running into several people at shows and connecting with them online, I've discovered a whole world of Pearl Jam tattoos! It's really awesome to see the designs people get and the lyrics they choose!Īnyone want to share their Pearl Jam art? You're probably wondering what this post has to do with Pearl Jam, well let me tell you! I recently decided to get a tattoo with the lyrics from one of my favourite songs "Wishlist". I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with tattoos having meaning, i'm simply putting forth the suggestion that tattoo's can be a visual piece of art rather than a story. The thing I hate most is the question everyone asks "well, what does it mean to you?" Often this question is asked in a way that connotes a specific in depth analysis of how you've wanted this tattoo for over a decade and it has meaning beyond verbal description. I love to look at the intricate designs of peoples tattoos, not only are they extremely personal but they're often the most interesting pieces of art. There are many articles speaking about the societal change regarding the image of tattoos, another report called "The Changing Cultural Status of Tattoo Art" based out of the United States: Some even still associate tattoo's with criminal activity or indulged in by people of a lesser status.Īn interesting article I found talked about the taboo of tattoos in the workforceĮven the National Geographic has an article about the mainstream of tattoos Many argue that putting something so permanent on your body will often lead to regret, or that tattoos are unacceptable in the workforce. Tattoo's although more common than ever, are still confrontational. What I loved most about this set was how even though they had just released an album, the show wasn't focused on the new songs they played what the crowd wanted to hear and its for this reason the energy in the room was at its all time high. After looking on the 10Club after the show people were discussing how shocked they were about such an amazing setlist for such a small town. The set list could not have been more fitting and perfect for the crowd. Secondly, I would have to say the show in Charlottesville, Virginia on the first night was one of the best shows I've ever been to. I do not know how they do it 100% every show of the tour. We only saw two shows back to back and it took everything out of me, I was exhausted by the end of the second night. I guess first off, I would like to praise the band. I don't even know where to start with the concerts. I know its Thursday evening and we technically got back from down South on Tuesday night, but things have been crazy getting back into the daily routine of work and school.
